Ticket control system for on the go, conveniently in your pocket
Every year, the Leipzig Bach Festival brings Johann Sebastian Bach’s music closer to an international audience. This year, the musician can even be admired “live” with the help of modern VR technology. Ulrich Wingerter and his team not only work on visionary formats, but also combine efficiency and sustainability in the ticketing system – and are only too happy to do so while on the move.

“What I particularly like about egocentric Systems is that everything is web-based and I can look things up on my cell phone from time to time. That makes it easy for us to have a large team working with it.”

TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION
The planning and implementation of the Bach Festival presents the Bach Archive Leipzig with numerous organizational and logistical challenges. In particular, the rapid scaling of the team during the festival, ticketing and the management of customer data required a reliable and user-friendly solution. Another goal was to minimize the festival’s ecological footprint while maintaining a high level of visitor experience.

The Leipzig Bach Festival not only requires a swift processing of ticket sales for thousands of visitors, but also a solution that can cope with a constantly growing team of over 38 people. The ticketing system from egocentric Systems offers a user-friendly solution that makes both ticket sales and team member management efficient.
“The user interface is so intuitive that new team members can be quickly onboarded without the need for intensive training. This is particularly important as our team grows rapidly during the festival period,” says Wingerter. The system makes it possible to access all relevant data from anywhere at any time – both mobile and desktop, which facilitates the work of all team members tremendously.
Fusion of Efficiency and Sustainability
The Bachfest Leipzig also aims to minimize the festival’s ecological footprint. By using a fully digital ticketing system and integrating environmentally friendly concepts, CO2 emissions during the festival have been significantly reduced. In addition, the Bachfest contributes to reforestation with the Johann Sebastian Bach Forest, a project that is supported by the contribution of festival visitors and fundraising.
“The festival is not only a cultural event, but also an example of sustainable event organization. We were able to increase the efficiency of the organization and at the same time assume our responsibility towards the environment,” explains Wingerter.
40,000 customer data records managed
The management of customer data plays a central role for the Bach Festival, as around 40,000 tickets are sold each year. The ticketing system from egocentric Systems offers a powerful integration of customer data and marketing tools.
“With the system, we can easily manage the data of our festival visitors and use it specifically for marketing purposes. The central administration of all customer information in one system has saved us a lot of work and time. We can now communicate quickly and efficiently with our guests and provide relevant information,” says Wingerter.
