  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) governs the collection and processing of personal data in the EU and has been legally binding since May 25, 2018. Because data is also processed throughout the event journey—from ticket purchase to email reminders—the GDPR applies to event organizers as well.

    The regulation sets out core principles such as data minimization, purpose limitation, transparency, and close collaboration with the data protection officer. It should be seen not only as a rulebook but also as an opportunity to earn your visitors’ trust.
